The Royal Petites Knitting Pattern Collection is a product of Blue Sky Fibers, formerly Blue Sky Alpacas. This is another of my favorite projects given its uniqueness and attention to detail. It is a 1950s-themed knitting pattern collection featuring 7 different alpaca yarn patterns, 4 of which are shown here. The project was originally designed to include a single-pocket folio that, when opened, contained a knitting pattern. However, through experimenting with different foldings, I discovered a way to include two pockets inside the folio. Given that the Royal Petites line is distinct because it is made of 100% Royal alpaca yarn, and I had many questions about alpacas, I suggested that a picture of an alpaca with an alpaca fact be placed inside the second folio pocket. Ultimately, in the spirit of a photo keepsake, I created a vintage alpaca photo with a handwritten alpaca fact on the backside. I provided all Design and Art Direction. Illustration by Nate Hager.
